Ben Torres is the Multi-Office Agent/Owner of Ben Torres State Farm and a 30+ year veteran of the insurance industry.
From his beginnings working at his mother’s agency to launching his own office and eventually expanding to a second location, Ben has done a tremendous job helping clients manage the risks of everyday life.
Ben also doesn’t leave intensity at the office. Whether shooting clays, working in his woodshop, restoring a car, or landing a plane sideways on a runway, he’s all-in.
About the Guest:
Born in Clare MI he lived in Pontiac until five years old when moved with family to Saline MI. Ben Torres spent most of his childhood there with his mother and two brothers. After attending Saline high he went on to Eastern Michigan University. While attending Eastern he started working for a family insurance agency and was a short order cook to round out his schedule working 7 days a week.
From a young age, exhibiting an entrepreneurial spirit he started dabbling in real-estate, obtained his pilot’s license and started an airplane rental company leasing aircraft to two local flight schools. During this time the real-estate grew into a profitable rental business.
After the recession of 2008, closing the aircraft rental, and selling the assets he started making moves to open his own insurance agency. Selling off some of the real-estate assets and also some consolidating and with a lot of hard work his long-fought dream of opening his own office came to fruition in 2012.
Here is a brief history of the last 8 years.
- Ben Torres Agency Established 8/01/2012
- Original locations established Downtown Ann Arbor, MI, from scratch, no clients.
- Second location downtown Monroe MI established 12/1/2017
- Legion of Honor qualifier, every year. A local award.
- Multiple year (every year) Ambassador qualifier, a local award.
- MDRT Aspirant qualifier 2015, an industry award.
- 8-9 employees between the two locations.
