After 30+ years as a speech and language pathologist, Melody Vachal founded Rise Up Care and Wellness to help those who spend their lives helping others.
Melody has been a full-time caregiver for most of her adult life. After needing a caregiver of her own following a brutal car accident, Melody realized how critical the need for self-care had become. Since then Melody has committed to helping caregivers light their own candle before they’re reduced to being the char at the bottom of the wick, unable to shine.
About the Guest:
Melody Vachal is a veteran caregiver of nearly 24 years who understands the emotional and practical details of caregiving. She knows the consistency and vigilance required along with the impact on self, family, and career. As a professional, with a career as a Speech Language Pathologist she supported families in their journey. As an individual, Melody learned about caregiving from the other side after she became the victim of a car accident and needed extensive rehabilitation and caregiving herself. Following this experience, she launched her business RISE UP Care and Wellness to help caregivers develop the skills needed to practice self-care while caring for others. She is now living and realizing the importance of caregivers caring for themselves.
